Lampworking Beginner Kits - Kit 1 The Starter

The Basic Kit allows you to get started with a number of key tools. 

The only item not listed that you will need to purchase is "Vermiculite". This is available at your local garden supply store or hardware store. The Starter Kit includes:

• Hot Head and the Adaptors to connect directly to your gas bottle*

• 100g (Dry) Bead Release - makes 200g

• High Speed Steel Rake

• 10 mixed diameter sized mandrels

• Graphite Paddle

• Bead Core Scraper Set

For glass you have a choice of the Effetre or Bullseye Preselected kits.

Optional Extras

• Vermiculite: Due to the bulk of Vermiculite it is more cost effective to purchase locally. However for those wanting a full solution the vermiculite is available for an additional $5.

• Protective Glasses: Protective glasses are a necessity when working with glass as they protect your from flying glass chips and there are now special glasses that reduce the Sodium flare (the bright yellow-orange that glass produces in the flame). Basic glasses, to protect against flying glass can be included for an additional $10.00 or if you would prefer the AV 2000 filtered glasses, which cut the sodium flare more than ordinary didymium filters they can be included for an additional $50. 

• Hose Upgrade Kit: The hose upgrade, excluding the gas bottle, can be included for an additional $51.
