Add a pearlescent sheen or metallic shine to your glass beads, scrapbooks, birthday cards, soaps, lotions, and crafts! Mica is non-toxic, heat-proof, and non-flammable! These powders make wonderful additions to all kinds of media.
For glass beads simply roll your hot bead into the mica powder. Give the bead a light heat again under the flame (not too long or it will look pitted) add more and then anneal. Alternatively, encase in clear - less messy and still has a glassy finish. The following picture shows a light coating on dense white and black bullseye glass.
For fusing projects simply dust on your desired piece of glass. For a smooth finish lay your Mica design between layers (i.e. black and clear) or for a more matt finish place the mica on the top layer. For cards and scrap booking mix a tiny amount of the powder with glue, or add to a paint to give it a glittery affect. Then simply apply to paper or cardboard. Whatever you glue sticks to, the mica will stay as well. The sparkle in car paint is the result of mica being added to the paint!
